Nothing About CHWs Without CHWs

For too long, discussions about CHWs have been happening without CHWs. It’s time for a change.

CHWs are vital to the proper functioning of primary healthcare systems across the globe. And we will no longer tolerate CHWs being excluded from policy discussions and decision-making about issues that impact CHWs, their patients, and their communities.

Having CHWs attend and participate in community health events, planning meetings, and policy discussions is vital to advancing the professional CHW (proCHW) movement. So at the same time as developing advocacy training, we demand event organizers include CHWs as speakers whenever CHWs are being spoken about.

To make this possible, we’re cooperating on a global scale. We’ve created the CHW Speaker Bureau, which is a registry of CHWs ready to take on speaking engagements. The Speaker Bureau is the first of its kind and offers a streamlined booking process for event organizers.

In every conversation that impacts CHWs, whether that’s a community event, an online forum, or a global conference, CHWs must be given a seat at the table.

Each speaker has undertaken our CHW Advocates training program and is currently working as a CHW and/or CHW supervisor.
